Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill

This is Richmond’s highest point. I stumbled across it last Monday, thinking I could cut over on 22nd Street to get from Broad to Main. It turns out that on the chunk of land where 22nd Street used to go through stands a beautiful monastery there that has been turned into an ecumenical prayer community. They remark on the significance of praying for the city from this high place morning, noon, and evening, just as the nuns and Native Americans did in ages past.
